SEK Convention XI

After completion of the XI SEK Convention, there are only words to congratulate SEK and all its PARTNERS (in capital letters). It took place in Majadahonda (Madrid) from 23 to April 25, 2004.

The success has been resounding, 337 couples submitted for the contest (of which 158 have been presented by 40 SEK partners), 18 pairs for exhibition and 39 photographies. The quantity of killfish has been such that exceeded all expectations and we had to be found urgently more fish aquariums to accommodate them where arrived at the exposure, and even temporarily "confiscate" aquariums from the sale. All this gives an idea of the magnitude of exposure.

Unfortunately, some events for the Convention had to be suspended or canceled as our President Francisco Malumbres had to leave because unavoidable family reasons.

The affluence of visitors was very high and the exposure was a continual coming and going of people and shooting of their photo cameras. Typical little groups were formed with animated discussions trying to get the trick for breeding Avichang, incubation methods used by "professionals" and all those things that animate this fantastic world of Killifish.

The dinner went friendly and relaxed, the awards ceremony being animated by the wives of some members who were eager to cheer and compliment to the winners. Already they are thinking in setting up a parallel Wives's Convention, so... get ready!.

SEK partners have achieved very different prizes. Francisco Manzano won the prize for best killfish of the Convention. Because the list is too long you can see the names in this list, only comment that we have obtained in addition to the prize mentioned, 7 first prizes 5 seconds prizes and 5 thirds prizes in the contest of killfish. The prize for the best photography, APK Awards and Christine Lambert prize. The KCF Award this year has been to Victor Portal, which in addition to present his first killfish, has been a small but great contributor to the auction keeping the auctioneer informed timely.

Nothing else, just to thank all the partners by their selfless work, they have made this Convention a success. I do not let myself to mention anyone names, just say one, Juan Vicente. Thanks for organizing and coordinating this great event.
